More of the story...

"In my early days, I always felt out of place when it came to defining who I was as an artist," Bobby says.

"On the one hand, people were originally introduced to me through my Christian music. On the other, there was this entire fanbase of people who followed me for R&B love songs. But for me, either way it was sharing my heart. When a viral song like Missing You or many others I’ve written over the years continue to garner millions of streams around the world to this day, it makes you reflect. The e-mails and stories are moving. It reminds you about the power of words, being intentional about the lyrics you write, and continuing to strive to connect with people at that emotional level."

It was those "love songs" that gave Bobby the opportunity to sign a Major Label deal worth millions...he turned it down.

"Overnight you think all the hard work and sacrifice has finally paid off. But the labels wanted to change who I was at the core and required I sing about or portray things I didn’t believe in. It was one of the hardest decisions I've ever had to make."

Walking away from that opportunity and others like it meant Bobby had to find a way to evolve his brand outside of the traditional system.

"Whenever you embark to do what God has called you to do or challenge the status-quo, you are going to face opposition...that is just a part of the process."

It paid off. He became one of the first artists in U.S. history to have an R&B-themed song chart on the Top-40 Christian Music Pop charts, released through his own indie production label. That momentum led to broader production and writing work across the entertainment industry, licensing content for television and film and dealing in public relations and celebrity representation. Bobby went on to negotiate licensing agreements with well-known publishers such as Sony Pictures Entertainment, and advertising agreements with the largest REITs in North America, including Simon Property Group, Westfield Group, and Brookfield Properties Retail Group to name just a few.

Bobby has always thought outside the box and is the author of the book “The Difference – You Can Change the World.” This deep desire to make a difference and see others succeed is reflected in a charity he founded with his wife Jessica, a family-based, non-profit mission for impoverished women and children: Uganda, Anchor Love Mission.

"Our society has become so obsessed with celebrity. Today, people want to be famous just to be famous. I've seen it all. I've been to some of the top of the Hollywood circles and it’s all empty. At the end of the day, it isn't about how many accolades we receive but rather what we did with the gifts we were given to touch others. That is all that is going to last."
